Investment Bank of Kuban

The Investment Bank of Kuban (IBK) is cdbbank’s wholly-owned subsidiary bank in Krasnodar, Russia. It is the only bank headquartered in the region with 100% foreign capital. IBK is fully licensed to conduct banking operations with legal entities and registered entrepreneurs both in Russian rubles and foreign currencies.

History

The Investment Bank of Kuban was established within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Cyprus, signed by the President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, and the President of the Republic of Cyprus, George Vasiliou, in 1992. The agreement provided for the establishment in Russia of a bank to support the development of the real sector of the economy. Following the economic crises of 1993 and 1998, the CJSC “Investment Bank of Kuban” was registered on April 12, 1999 with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). On September 24, 1999 the Central Bank of Russia issued the CJSC “Investment Bank of Kuban” with a licence to conduct operations in roubles and foreign currencies. In April 2003 IBK joined the Association of Regional Banks of the Russian Federation. In February 2008 cdbbank acquired EBRD’s shareholding and became the sole shareholder of IBK.

Services

IBK grants loans to companies and individual entrepreneurs, conducts commercial banking operations and takes deposits from institutional investors in Russian roubles, Euros and US dollars. The Bank’s consulting services include preparation of business plans, feasibility studies, legal due diligence reports and assistance in establishing contacts with foreign businessmen abroad.

In providing its services, IBK combines international banking practice with local expertise. The Bank’s specialists evaluate investment opportunities and applications for loans using international project appraisal methodologies. These are applied to take into consideration the specific characteristics of Russian businesses. Advisory and commercial banking services provided by IBK are of international standard and individually tailored to clients’ needs.
